Swan: Try converting the JPG to a BMP and using that as your background. I suspect the JPG activated Active Desktop, which is known to have some incompatabilities with Stardock stuff.

George: Thanks.

OMG!!!! I'll admit when I first saw this theme I thought it was boring and dull looking, and couldn't understand how it got to such high position, and so many downloads etc. I had to download it to satisfy my curiosity. I now understand....

What a wonderful skin!

Converting the JPG to BMP didn't help so I decided to backup a step and remove the background all together. I'm just trying to change the desktop color and can't, at least permanently. When I reboot and login, the color defaults back to the original. I can see the new color for about 10 seconds and then it changes back during the login process. What am I missing? FYI - I disabled Active Desktop from within the Group Policy MMC so that shouldnt be an issue any longer. I obsess when I cant get something simple working so please save me!

WB always applies the skin's colour on boot - it doesn't save it (since it could be changed . . . like you're doing). Since the colour overrides option seems to be departing, your best bet is probably to edit the skin to use that colour - it's fairly easy with SkinStudio (Miscellaneous/Colours/Miscellaneous/Background - Desktop), or even Notepad ([Colours] - Background). Sorry, but can't think of a better solution.

I changed WB to use Blackcomb Plus instead of the regular Blackcomb and now it works with my brackground (BMP) - Thanks! Sorry if this was a rookie mistake...

Absolutely love this. The only thing that bugs me is that I stretch the taskbar to double-height and lock it. Everything is fine until I reboot. The taskbar keeps reverting to single height. Could you please let me know how to fix this.
Thanks - Mike.

This is a bug with XP (that of course only really shows up with WB). When you switch from XP Luna to Classic, this problem occurs. Unfortunately WB has to do this every time you reboot. There is a workaround - if you stack two taskbar bars on top of one another (eg quicklaunch under tasks), the taskbar will remain at the same height.

this is the best windowblinds skin there is, it looks good, is functional, and isn't loud, doesn't take up too much space, Ive been usuing this skin for a year now.

This is awesome skin! The colors are pleasing, not overwhelming, and the functionality is amazing. I've used many of the other great ones out there, but this will be my fav for a long time to come. Naturally, Im currently using it!

Way to go, GreenReaper!

LOVE this skin! I don't normally like the darker colored skins, but this one isn't too dark to make it oppressive. One problem: I have to use Lotus Notes for e-mail, and the active tab in Notes is impossible to read. It appears to be white-d out (very light background with white text). I also had a similar problem with a calendar control in an Access app I was building - (with the skin applied) the background of the calendar is white and the dates are too light to read. I tried Blackcomb Plus and Blackcomb Dark, and got the same result. Am running Win2K Pro. Any suggestions?

Alas, they are probably using button text colour, but forcing the background to be white (or using the window background colour). Usually button text is black so this works out, but not for Blackcomb. Not much that can be done for this, I'm afraid, unless you can override the colours inside the application.

Re: white button text color

I've noticed the same thing with several apps having white text instead of black text (Opera 7, ReGet, etc). I'll have to contact the programmers about that. This skin is in my personal top 3!

I gravitate away to something new for a couple days and always find myself coming back to Blackcomb - can't find anything that has the combination of clean looks and easy to use features. I have to give it a 10.

Gah! I love this skin. It blends so nicely with my DM 86>98 plus wallpapers...now I'm judging all the skins I download to this one. Nothing really gets me like this one...
