start, run, regsvr32 /u zipfldr.dll will turn off the windows handling,
and then you can use Winzip instead (found on 99% of PC magazine cover

"Try re-registering the dll:
Start -> Run -> regsvr32 zipfldr.dll"
If that does not work, then try and download WinZip http://www.winzip.com/ and use that.
