Autumn Colors v1.0 ... Probably my most colorful wb skin ever, a little bright but I think it's still a very usable skin. A break from my comic book character themed wb skins, the inspiration for this skin is obviously the current season and it's many colors (red, orange, yellow, green, brown) - it's actually pretty beautiful this time of year in Canada and the weather has been warmer than normal making it easy to enjoy the Fall season (aside from raking all those !@#$% leaves - just kidding )
The taskbar and system tray area are transparent and the taskbar background shown is a glyph image - a photo of leaves on the ground in autumn. The nice thing about this effect is that you can resize the taskbar quite a bit and the detail doesn't get blurred or squished, I will use this effect going forward with any wb skin that require a taskbar with some type of texture instead of a solid color. The taskbar buttons are semi-transparent and allow the background to show through.
I could have called this skin Autumn Glyph Mania since I've used glyph images quite extensively throughout the skin but I think it gives it a nice effect without going overboard. The min/max/close windowframe buttons are glow buttons and are colored yellow/orange/red; the start button is an oversize button featuring autumn leaves. The start panel is an autumn bkgrnd image which turned out nicely (although some might find the program listings a little hard to read, mousing over them will fix that since I've used a panel item image for that effect.) I have also skin the more programs button (my first attempt ever at this effect), it works but I'm still a little uncertain about it. The windowframes are a glossy glass effect with the same autumn bkgrnd image as the texture. This skin also offers both horizontal & vertical taskbar support.
I've tested this wb skin on 2 computers with screen resolutions ranging from 800x600 (ugg!), 1024x768 (my thinkpad's standard res) and on 1400x1050 (my dell laptop) and it looks good in each of these environments.
This skin was designed for Windows XP using SKS5 & WB5 but should work well using WB6 and/or Windows Vista as well. I still haven't taken the plunge to SKS6 or WB6 (although my dell laptop is running the wb6 trial right now and it applies the skin with no problems.)
Let me know what you think! I appreciate any & all feedback (good or bad... it's all good!)
Thank you for your consideration.
