under the old format where WBv6.0 which is slightly different
. It often loses color in the middle of the bottom
bar leaving just the line by itself or going invisible! Maybe author's should
specifiy WB6 compatible! Just a thought! I notice it on the
preview... in configure windowblinds the visual styles area!
I don't know if they changed formatting or what when they went to 6.0 but
there is a noticible change

I'm guessing your using Firefox, because IE doesn't allow you to customize.
For Firefox: Click on Tools > Options > Content > Colors. In my comments I mention 2 choices to tick, 1) Allow Pages to Choose or 2) Use System Colors. You MUST choose one or the other. If you tick both, the text will "disappear" as you described. Why? Because HK 08 now dictates System Colors, meaning the text will be white - which obviously can't be seen if the web page uses a white background (like WinCustomize does).
Additional info:
1) Ticking ONLY "Allow Pages to Choose" will load the pages as they were originally designed, over-riding the settings in the blind.
2) Ticking ONLY "Use System Colors" means that for most of your pages the background will be Navy with White text. However, you do have the option changing the link colors. Example, for HK 08, I use the following color choices. Click on the color box for Unvisited Links and select the blue that is 3rd column from the right, 4th row down. For Visited links I use the light grey in the first column on the left, 3rd row down.
Click both "OK's" and then refresh. Done deal.
Let me know if this does not solve your problem.

However, I don't think that should have anything to do with how HK 08 loads using WB 6.0. I'm using WB 6.0 and everything appears as it was designed. Besides, there are tons of Blinds that were made for WB 3x, 4x and 5x that also load just fine using WB 6.0.
I think you can "fix" the task bar transparency issue by opening WB's and selecting Transparency and Blur from the top menu bar, and then clicking on Default Setting.
Hopefully that solves the problem.

Just had a thought. Can one or both of you send me a screen shot of the Start Menu? That might help me try and figure out why its happening. Email: knofsky@hotmail.com

I haven't seen this misalignment the others have been talking about (I'm on Xp). There is a small issue with the control panel. You have the text color set to the same as the background (blue). Turns white on mouseover so I can read it, though. I don't know if this was intentional or not
Also I find the header text very hard to read (it's so tiny )
This is your first blind? I'm impressed!

For other troubles like
Though, i like this skin very much, but a classic background color is really imperative and with titlebar font a bit larger (it's really unreadable like this)
There are also a few missings in skin (in XP shell section, all background images are missing, same for Title bar Icons and most in special folders), in section Taskbar, the gripper is not designed, and in a few .bmp's images using "magic pink" that one is not defined as transparent or is defined as transparent AND tranluscent...
Hope it will help

Example: Control Panel > Display > Appearance > Advanced. The only box that is ticked is "Show User Icon in Start Panel". The 3 drop boxes on the left should be set to 1) Skin Decides Task Bar Size, 2) I Want to Make Fonts 20% Larger, and 3) Leave Skin Fonts Alone.
These settings may help. Let me know.
2) Background images in XP shell section (Images in the bottom right hand corner of My Pictures, My Videos, etc in My Documents. I purposely did not skin these because in my opinion they serve no useful purpose. Same decision was made for the Title Bar icons for these same folders. Call it artistic license on my part. Lots of blinds skip over these.
3) Taskbar section: Gripper not designed on purpose, and image included is Magic Pink. Again, artistic license.
4) Magic Pink not defined: I just reviewed all BMP images in Studio and can't find any not properly defined as Transparent. Please provise specific info on images so I can investigate further.
Hope this helps.
Additional comment on "Artistic License". The primary reason any of us are here is because we want choices that Bill Gates and company will not provide us with. Just because MS includes certain items in their basic blind doesn't mean they are useful or an integral part of the blind. The biggest example in my case is that I have no use for the task bar, and always use a top bar using DesktopX. But I know many people do still use the task bar so I skinned it accordingly.
This same thinking was used in deciding not to re-skin the AVI's for Move Files, Copy files, etc. On todays fast PC's these AVI's appear for only a couple of seconds - if at all. So I chose to just go with the originals from WinXP.
If things like background images in My Documents or Title bar icons are important to you, there are 349 pages of blinds to choose from. Not trying to be snotty, just pointing out the obvious. I can find things I don't like with almost every blind here at WinCustomize, and I'm sure most of you probably feel the same. So we end up using a blind that has most of the things we like or find appealing.
Enjoy.
