What version of SkinStudio (SKS) did you use. In SKS 5 get no previews or images as it states it is a UIS1 skin, it does open and display in SKS6, but when try to open images to check them using edit button, Paint Shop Pro X almost opens then just closes.

It looks like you have used bitmaps with magic pink for everything, much better to use pngs so have true transparency and can use anti-aliasing and feather to make nice smooth images. SKS will convert pngs into required tgas when import images.

UIS1 is and outdated format, I suggest you start again using UIS2 format, it is much more flexible and allows for more complete skinning.

Also why have you checked that this is WB6 ready, all/most older skins will work with WB6, WB6 ready means the skin should have features that are WB6, the only WB6 feature is the explorer background the rest is about a WB4 skin.

I like the color choices on this blind. Not your usual color combos. The task bar buttons and the start button seem flat, while the taskbar itself is three dimentional looking. That kinda throws things off a bit. Try giving them a gradient or highlights to make them dimentional. Like Cavan said, try using png images for anything with rounded edges. It will look much smoother. Good first blind, keep at it!

kwyjibo, get off your ass and submit your own stuff before you start leaving idiotic comments like that. overall not a bad effort for a first time skin, i agree with cavan it could be a bit more polished, but that comes with experience. keep going mate you can only get better

OzChild! I thing this is a pretty darn good skin. I have Vista, and I love the colors. On this it's a darker purple, but not overwhelming. You should be proud of yourself! I personally think it's pretty fabulous! Keep more coming, you're doing a GREAT JOB!!!!

I used Skin Studio 6 free version. I used magic pink for most things because I didn't know how to use pngs until I was almost finished. I said WB6 ready because when I went to submit the skin it asked whether it had wb6 only components, I didn't know so I just said yes to be safe. Thanks for the responses (almost) everyone. Its been a learning experience anyway.

Well, I don't know about anyone else...But kwjibo, your a jerk off! As for the skin...Nice starter! It's original and thats a lot more than can be said for many of the submissions. It's a little rough but it's your first skin and the fact that you finished it is huge to anyone who's even attempted it "Kwjibo?" Nice job Oz.

My, my, arent we a testy group of individuals. While I sort of agree with Kwyjibos comment, I think his method of delivery could have been better. Cavan1 and Xiandi provided helpful insight on how to improve the skin, good job you two. I dont see a lot of difference between saying the skin hurts his eyes to calling someone an ahole. Two wrongs dont make it right. Kwyjibo: the unwritten posting law appears to be, if you dont have some thing good to say, shut the f**k up. Flaming is not encouraged within the community but I must say you did cause some minor flare-ups. OzChild: congratulations on your first post.

Is that what it makes?...It always makes me irritable. By the way wimpy...if you agree with that comment that makes you just as rude. Why the need for insults when someone is just trying to learn something?
