Thanks for that. No hard feelings. I knew I was doing skins that were very similar. They are what I wanted to see on my screen. At least I haven't heard anything about magic pink on this one yet. That's a bonus.

Vampothika Big MAJOR OOOPS!! Folks. You have to be useing the non per pixel frames to hear the music. I didnt put the button on the per pixel frames. Sorry . It's the one detail that I forgot whilst trying to get the skin to work for nonxp machines. the music button is the tiny green wedge At the bottom of the left frame. It will turn blue. You should ba able to just click on it. Also. I forgot to mention. Among the surprises. There is an an animated cursor. called Tron cursor. animated Bit. You have to drag & drop it into your cursor folder. For those who don't know Your Windowblinds files that your computer accesses should be located in C/Documents & settings/All users/ shared documents / Stardock / Windowblinds / Tron Your Cursors are in C/Windows / cursors . Have fun!

Alright i was fiddling with WB7, found the SkinStudio in the file menu instead of with some kind of icon in the visual part. Turns out I could download most of the options for free and my gosh, I noticed that I could be a "skinner" using it. I thought I had to have much more than that. Obviously I have a lot to learn (like Brad and it makes me appreciate the skins more) and hope to create 1 or 2 in the future time permitting. Vampothika, I'm closer to figuring out how to swap the light green font against the white background... I found the titlebar & windowsframes in SS7... I guess it'll take some time for me to figure them out...

I Don't understand. Why you cant simply change the windows background color to a color of your choosing. and or change the text color. I can do it using the OS's Properties Appearance advanced options, or use windowblinds colors panel change system color, in 5 clicks or less. Will someone please enlighten as to the major problem with the text color here. I feel as if this isn't reality here. What am I missing???

Dragged out and dusted off my old vcr version of "Tron". I have to say you have done well in emulating the style of graphics in the movie, and thank you for reminding me some of the old things we have can be just as entertaining as the new. While this isn't my usual style of WB I just had to toss in a comment to let you know you got the "look" just like the movie.

We took our kids to see Tron at a Drive in movie theater and we all thought it was a kool movie. I still do, not sure about my kids now that they are middle aged!!! But I agree with wulfn1...you really captured the *look* of Tron!! Thank you!!!!

No worries. It's a little complicated (Windows Appearance, SkinStudio and WB7 Font controls - LOL). I really like ur skin and don't want lose too much of its originality so I am being careful. I agree, you've captured the Tron feeling on this skin. These LCARS skins, I believe gave u the practice & preparation to do so well with the Tron skin. And keep the sci-fic skins coming, I love them and we do need more of them...

brad, can you elaborate more when you say "windows background" cause Im no sure what you are talking about. as for font colour, thats easy to do. Ill try to explain again, i know its not easy to follow without pictures.... open skinstudio and open the skin you want to edit. once its open, look on the left hand side and you will see a list of skin studio parts, you need to click on "edit titlebars and windowframes" one you clicked on that, the window will change to new list of options. you choose "edit per pixel frames" or edit uis frames (depending on which frame you would like to change the font on. doing both would be recommended) Once you have opened per pixel frames, make sure you have clicked on the first item, and that is 'caption' when you have done this, look down the bottom and you will see a tab list, they are: "image, glyph, painting, text, extra settings, code editor, help. click on text. you will now see the text editor text colour is first, you will see its name, a window with an arrow and a small button beside the arrow, you click that button to change the colour. (or you can also click the arrow which opens up a list of pre existing colours that are the system colours on the skin) above that there is another small window that says beside it :'State to modify" active will be showing, once you have changed the active font, use this windows arrow to show the inactive state as well and choose the font colour for that too. to change the font colour for the uis frames, its more self explanitory, you follow the same steps for per pixel. The inactive and active colours are both visible, so its a little easier to change asap. i truly hope this helps....sorry i dont have pics as well. kitty xxx

Thanks kitty. I'm off to check that out right now. When I say windows background I mean the background on the window or "folder" that is open. I've tried changing the desktop background to grey to see if the text background would also change. but nah. I was curious as to Pauls problem with the font color on specific color backgrounds. I realize with the cyan color it's virtually impossible to read on white background. I don't use white backgrounds as they are hard on my eyes. However 2of3 explained there are apps that are hardcoded on thier backgrounds. where when I use a black background the text is also black. Yeah kinda hard to read there. Seeing as I don't have vista. I dont have that problem except where the search panel comes into play. But I don't need to read that to use it. We in the trekkers world have come to regard vista as evil. But we like animated backgrounds. Try that on a normal vista. which brings me to some sad news about one of the backgrounds I'm including in the updated version of Lcars. Its an animated gif. And it's really cool. But seeing as I've recently learned how to make an mpeg out of gifs. perhaps I'll do that for the vista users. By the way My TNG substyle is looking so TNG. it's scarry.

Hey Kitty and all - that was purrr-fect!!! Your instructions towards UIS, caption and active/inactive font colours (especially the cyan colours in IE) made all the difference. I actually was this close to it but kept navigating to the wrong places. I went to "edit windowtools" and tried & tried to no avail. Sooo bingo! Brad, you can put this to a rest. I'm so glad to know this one little trick so that if I ever come across skins that's too hard for ME to see/read but like the rest of the skin, this is the place to go!
