My Vista Demo: Reloaded

More Vista Demos

Vista Demo

These are my next demos following the previous My Vista Demos. I answered some of the questions that wyldstallyns2589 asked in the comments.

Technical Note: As voice quality was not so good last time I used Adobe Audition for recording this time and I also did a bit of noise reduction. If you by any chance hear some person talking in the background or water that was my roommate taking a shower

Please let me know if missed out something that you would like to see in the comments.

thanks a lot man. and yeah, you got my nickname right ha ha.

great stuff, kind of dissappointing that that there is no XP theme, though i doubt i'd use it, someone might want it. and no virtual folders? i guess they took that out, i remember reading about it a while ago, and i remember thinking that it was a bad idea.

well that's why Stardock makes WindowBlinds so you can apply Win XP theme to Vista

and no virtual folders

yes apparently that was a bad idea. lots of people were getting confused about it. basically the virtual folders were like an automatic search folders. so in virtual music folder windows put all the music from your computer.

actually i think you get 2 but you can switch off the UAC (User Account Control) as I did and you get just one as in XP

What program are you using to record the screen? I've tried a few and I haven't really found one that I like yet...If I get a good program then I will probably try to make a Vista video like you have.

Since you're being generous and sharing with us your experience I have something I've been wondering about - you know how sometimes in XP if you try rename or move something, which is being used by another program at the time, like an open text file or something, there'll be a popup saying the file is being used, okay well, does that popup in Vista specify which program or process is using said file?

This hasn't happened to me in Vista yet but it did quite a few times in XP.
But here is the dialog window that pops up if you want to delete the file that is open. It offers more information that XP that said only file is in use by another application or something like that.
