BootSkin Pro

Changing the Windows Vista boot screen is about to become a snap in Object Desktop 2009 which arrives this Wednesday. Everyone who purchased Object Desktop within the past year will automatically get this.

For those of us who can not get Bootskin Pro to apply skins, could we please get an update on what is happening with that?

Shirley: I updated to the most recent version last night (1.02.046), hoping it would fix what a previous update had broken (Bootskin Pro did work briefly), but still no go.
When applying one of the provided bootskins it states the skin has been applied but the MS Aurora boot is shown instead.
However, Bootskin Pro will create new skins... it just doesn't apply them, on either OS (dual Boot)
OSes: Vista Home Premium x64 and Vista Ultimate x86. Both are set to English... locale Australia.
CPU: AMD Athlon x64 6400+ Black Edition @ 3.4
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-MA770-DS3
RAM: 6gb DDR2 800 (was 8gb but I recently poached some for another rig... don't think it would make a difference, though)
GPU: Nvidia 8800 GT @ 512mb... most recent drivers (182.08)
Hopefully this info aids in resolving the issue.

starkers: out of curiosity, do you have a utility called TuneUp Utilities 2009 installed? This app appears to have it's own means of changing the bootscreen, and I see this most often when this app is installed. If not, can you run this file:
http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/enumerate_startup.bat
and send me the log it creates on the desktop at support@stardock.com ? I'd say post it here, but it tends to flood the thread.

No, I don't have that app on my rig... just Stardock apps for customising.
I have to step out to do some shopping, but I'll do it when I get back.

I had same problem as Starkers occur after last MS Update plus machine would not close down fully at shutdown, I was told it was change to some net settings in the update but to solve run msconfig.exe and tick back to "normal startup" on general tab. While there I noticed on the boot tab that "no gui boot" was ticked and this gives the aurora boot screen static so I unticked that and then BootSkin Pro worked fully after reboot as did full shutdown. This may or may not be problem here but worth checking.

starkers & Ausvet: There was some work done on BootSkin Vista today to address the English language with non-US locale applying issues. I imagine the next update will include them and should solve the problems.

Instead of delivering skins, my BootskinXP decided to twin with F8. Just couldn't get the thing to work.. not big on Vista either, so waiting for Windows 7 with trepidation and hope...

Thanks for the new dll's, it works for me here now - it had worked all time for me till last MS update. English UK keyboard but Irish locale. Support rocks.

New files have been pushed to Impulse that should fix the regional settings issue.
If you were having issues applying bootskins bplease update and try again.
