Quick video demo of Fences in action.

If you have a Windows PC you should download this program. Seriously.

Read about this over on "neowin" and without thought downloaded and ran the program.  Within five minutes I removed it.

I removed it because it made "right click" inaffective.  Now for those who do not use "right click," and have a good deal of icons on the desktop it is a great application.

Not sure as to the reason it doen't work.  Try do work arounds such as turning off Fences, but still it wouldn't work.

I am running on vista home pre. on my laptop T3200 dual 2.0g intel.  Jumped over to my desktop (dual boot on a intel quad 64 bit OS) and Fences work on both vista and win 7.  So the problem appears to be in the laptop.  The possible problem could be in Vista SP2 beta I am testing, and if that is the problem I'll just have wait and see if a future update corrects the problem.  Not testing on the dual boot machine (didn't want to take a chance since I am also testing win 7).

If any one else is testing SP2 beta for vista without the prolbem please let me know.

Right click working fine here.

Just read the fine print that this is a beta version to try until the end of August. Price it right and you 100% have my money. Did you ever get Google Checkout as a payment option?

Brad, nice video Good explanation too, I'll go and try it out in a bit.

Two things: for me it ended abruptly in the last second, missing the last few words and second: put a link to stardock and/or fences in the description

Working fine here.  Vista 64 Ultimate with dreams.

Does it error or not work at all?  What happens when you pause the dream?  What happens when you use a static wall?

Hi, my mistake...I think I was likely doing too many things at once. It is working now (Vista home premium 32 bit). What happened was when I the put the dream wallpaper they (the fences) would no longer go invisible. Sorry I did not think to try again before posting here! This is great! If I had to choose just one program by stardock this would probably be the one. It is amazing how clean desktop looks and with a simple double click violĂ  there they are! Kudos!

Hmm i might try it but im running xp 64 pro, that has given me problems in the past with some stardock desktop software. Is this designed to work with xp 64? or just vista/win 7/ and xp 32?

What features do you plan on adding to the Pro version Brad?

Frogboy, I didn't get a chance to post earlier, but a feature that would really get me excited about the product is the ability to create fences inside a folder. It's not my desktop that gets cluttered, it's all the junk I have in my download folder. Most everything else has its own folder. I'm pretty organized about getting things onto another physical drive and keeping stuff split up into individual projects.

SirBedwyr, why not just create subfolders, the desktop is meant to be purely graphical, but folders are more logistical

Not for me, I don`t pile icons onto my desktop, but quite neat. This has more innovation than the last version of Windows...

(not kidding)
