Two questions:

- Should a 'dock user expect to pony up for version 2 and/or beta or is this a subscription model (no loaded meaning, just want to gear expectations correctly).

- Will backgrounds be packaged for quick double-click-install the way wb files are?  It would make life much much easier.

I do wish Object could automatically sort things into the right folders.  Its been my one peeve about it that I have to manually move each background type into the right location.

Just came up with a feature idea.  I occasionally use the same icon for multiple programs (similar programs or different parts of a suite).  It would be cool to add something like a sub-text or super-text.  That way I can have (as with the icons I used a moment ago), swiss army knife A, swiss army knife B, and swiss army knife C.  That way the icons are differentiated visually without me having to crack open photoshop to change colors, add stuff, etc.

Looks great so far, I'm definitely interested in upgrading.  I'm hoping that you'll be able to delete docks from the GUI if you're so inclined.

Looks good! Finally a reflection! Yeah, bring on the eye candies Now what will I do with all my custom reflective icons and docklets? More seriously, will 3rd part docklets have a reflection automatically? That will mean I'll have to take the (fake) reflections out of my docklets backgrounds(luckily I only made 3). And one more question that I'm very curious about, will the reflection move down as the icon magnifies (as in you know where.. . Anyway, looks really cool, please share some more pics or vids

Cannot wait to test it, that's really cruel to tease like this...

FWIMBW, I recently purchased a Dell StudioXPS laptop. It came with a copy of something called "DellDock" pre-installed, which turns out to have been jointly developed by Stardock & Dell. The icons at least look remarkably like the images at the top of this thread, the control panel doesen't. After playing with it for awhile, I really like it.

On the strength of my experience with DellDock, I bought a copy of ObjectDock 1.9 for my desktop running Win 7. It's is ok, but I like DellDock better.

DellDock

DellDock is pretty cool but it isn't as customizable as ObjectDock.  It is harder to skin also.  It's a nice "out-of-the-box" desktop dock, but OD is so much better.

The thing I like about DellDock is that I can have top level or category icons, like graphics, internet, etc. on the dock and when I mouse over the category icon, I get a flyout with programs in that category. I haven't found a way to do that with ObjectDock 1.9.
