GregII, do you have this resolved? If not, try opening Impulse  and go to Preferences and click on Reset Data. Close and relaunch Impulse and try the update again.

I can not open impulse.  I receive an Impulse Error AIndow that state the 'Impulse encountered an error and must shutdown.  I have tried to un/reinstall with same result.  I run W7 64bit, ssd drives, geforce 460 OC, etc.  ANy idea as to how to proseed?

CAMCO4U, between the uninstall and reinstall did you run a clean up program like CCleaner and reboot?  Did you also try what Wizard suggested in reply #2?
EDIT:  Ooops sorry, I didn't read that you can't open Impulse.

Just installing DeskScapes causes my wallpaper to disappear.  The DeskScapes Config UI flashes open then disappears when I attempt to launch it.

Rebooting was no help.  Had to uninstall it to get my normal desktop back.

Dell Vostro 1500 laptop, XPP SP3, NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT.

Trying out the 30 day trial. So far so good. Very nice.

Not worth it for me. Worked great but it would actually put a crimp in my skinning. In other words a luxury item that's not essential for me.
