i just realized i forgot to mention in the readme file you must register the control using "regsvr32.exe controlname.ocx"
and you must have motherboard monitor running before starting using the control. sory for the inconveniance if you need anything let me know please.

do you have to have the latest update for Visial Basic to run this?

I'm going to check it out when I get DX on my new computer. I would like to say thanks for makeing a design that gives you readings of parts of your computer. It is a great Idea and I hope you do more.

This skin looks too old for a large Visual Basic Runetime engine

eatch label is a script and must be enabled before enabling the about box script (my control) it is kinda tricky, I am working on makeing it more user friendly (sory for the ugly skin too)..

the visual basic control is not a runtime engine it basicly gets the memorey address's motherboard monitor uses to store its info. thare for motherboard monitor must be running to set the values of the memory addresses. my control is actualy very small in size actualy and the sorce code is included in the file too so for 64k ziped thats not bad..

Joetheblow: i am not realy sure what visual basic runtime desktopX requires but i made the control in visualbasic 6 so if anything just the msvb6 runtime dll should be fine. as for the update for visual basic , i currently only have service pack 3 installed for visualbasic 6 but visualbasic is not required to use the control within DesktopX.

Just out of curiosity, why does this seem to only have the values from MBM5 from when it is started? The values never update? FTIW, I think you should get rid of the 'About' button too. Would be nice if it took the 'tags' from MBM5 (i.e. FAN1 would be what I have instead of FAN1 in MBM5).

Crap that should be FWIW (for what it's worth) instead of FTIW (whatever the heck the 'T' was supposed to be).

Now that I'm thinking about it. Is there some way to have it only show the items (with their MBM5 names) that are in the Dashboard?

ok Xaeryth
first thing i havent edited the activeX control as of yet, but i will remove the about button. secound all the names are from script and can be changed at will, if you look at the DX script for the control (about button) you can change the names to whatever you wish (hope that helps). as for the (not updateing) the timer is also in the DX scripting i will see what i can find on the subject and get back when i have more info on it. thank you for your input and i'll see what i can do.

Xaeryth you are correct it only updates once now. must have been a change in the DX2 code cause i just checked the first one on annother machine and it works fine. i will try and fix this error either in script or vb code.. wish me luck and thank you again Xaeryth for your help (i should have tested more i guess before updateing sory.)..

Hey, that's okay. That's what the community is for. Any idea if you can get the script to pull the 'name' info from MBM5 as well? Either way, good luck.
