This theme is absolutely great; and THE reason I bought DesktopX. Great Great Great!

Just One thing: I can not, for the life of me, figure out how to turn on the taskbar on this theme. F10 doesn't seem to work. I see the taskbar at the bottom of each of your screenshots, but it hasn't shown its face on my desktop.

I can get the windows (windowblind) taskbar to show through, but not the theme taskbar. I've looked and looked for an answer...but nothing so far has worked. What am I missing here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Again, fantastic job!!

LearnedHand, the theme taskbar shows by default. It's not a setting that can be changed, actually. Does everything else in the theme show? Did it resize to your resolution correctly?

Here's some weirdness. I upgraded to DesktopX v3.0 today -- and everything seems to work just fine except that with this these (the only theme I want to use), I get some sort of graphic/color issue in the middle part of the top and bottom docks. Basically, the gray goes to a slightly brighter shade of gray for a few inches of screen (at 1280x1024) and then back to the regular color. Somewhat hard to describe. If no one else is experiencing this, I can do a screenshot (though it might be hard to see). I guess it is something I can live with.

Also, Chadamus -- I e-mailed you several questions a while back (some of which I have answered myself since then), but have not heard back -- any thoughts on that stuff?

Thanks for the reply Chadamus.

I figured out the problem and everything is working great now. Of course, it was an "end-user" issue, not a product problem. I'm working on an unusual display setup and it took just a little tweaking. Your theme looks great n a 61 inch DLP!

Thanks again.

Chad - thanks, I did find the "Builder" mode, and now I can start customizing things more. Thank you very much. I guess a simple RTFM from you would have sufficed, but as evidenced by your answering of almost every comment and question asked of you here - that does not seem to be your style. I appreciate the help, love the theme, and (IMHO) it has given a whole new life to DX. It looks great on my widescreen laptop, and didn't have to tweak the placement of objects at all! And now that I'm in the right "mode", I can change the shortcuts to point to my installed applications.

And hey, if we have to wait another year for something like this again - it would be well worth the wait!

Chad, just like everyone else, I love this theme! Insanely great job! But, unfortunately I'm having a couple problems... One major problem is that, following your directions I set my screen resolution to 1024 by 768 and applied your theme. I then proceeded to set my screen back to the native resolution of 1280 x 800. After I did this the theme adjusted very nicely and looked beautiful, but every single time I restart my computer, the entire bottom bar, the one that includes the tray icons, start menu button, internet browser button, etc, does not show up! I tried hitting the toggle button for it F10 and still, nothing! I don't really know what to do, I love this theme but I can't really use it if this happens every time I restart my computer, such a damn shame! Another thing, is there anyway to adjust your boundaries that you have set? Where the cpu information is, it cuts off the first part of it where it says Mobile and also the weather get

Chad, I am sorry, but no matter how hard I tried, I can not get the systray icons to show. The systray always stays a Circle. I've uninstalled DX, installed DX3 from scratch, removed all previous temp saved dx files, etc. etc. Even removed a lot of systray icons to only have 4 left. The switched to 1024x768, installed dx, installed DRevenge. But nothing, no icons show in the systray. I do not get the MCP erros, since MCP does not een start. Any idea? Could I help in suppling files and/or settings on my PC. I'm running XP SP2.
Regards, TCM

SonWolve, I've heard one other report of this behavior of the taskbar not showing up. The other person that had the behavior corrected it himself, so I'm not sure what he did, or what causes this. As for the text getting cut off... I'm wondering if the fonts didn't get installed properly. You can always unzip the theme, and drag and drop the font files into your windows>Fonts folder. Otherwise you can send me a screenshot, and I'll take a look at it.

Mooglg, actually, if you download from this site it downloads as a .dxtheme file, so no unzipping is necessary.

TCMiller, the SDMCP.exe program needs to be installed and running before systray icons will show. I'm not sure why your installation didn't install it properly.

Your theme works great even with the new Alpha DesktopX. Thanks so much for your hard work for it really shows. 5 stars easy.

One of the absolute coolest interfaces I've seen. Well designed with attention to detail. Now if I can figure out how to add my own icons with the proper links and mouse overs. I use dual 19in monitors and it looks great with that setup.

Thanks for sharing this with everyone.

Galaxyhunter, check out the tutorials listed in Comments 1-3 for steps on adding your own icons, etc. And... The dual monitor versions will be out this weekend, hopefully.

Nevermind, I managed to fix my problem.. However I found another one, I did as requested when loading the theme (changing to 1024x768 BEFORE applying the theme), then changing back to whatever above that... So I changed to 1280x1024 but I noticed the top bar with the weather etc. didn't stretch to the end of my screen, let me show you:

Bl3k, I've seen that happen a couple of times, and just starting over works. Just set back to 1024x768. Load the theme as if you were loading it new, and then change the screen size back to 1280x. If it still does it, restart DX. Oh, and could you resize the image to a thumbnail or something? Seems kind of cumbersome to have the huge image in the comment box.

Chadamus, ok, however I encountered the other problem I thought I had solved.. Which was in short, the taskbar (with the start menu etc) overlapped the cursor, so when I move it there I don't see where the cursor is.. Only when I highlight something...

Restarting windows fixes it but I wouldn't want to do that over and over again...

I noticed that it happens whenever I play a game (that also has a different resolution than my windows, and maybe this is causing it), however the top, or any of the other menus/bars in the theme do not have this overlap problem, so I'm sure it could be fixed

Other than that it's an absolutely lovely theme, great job!

The image posted by Bl33k above has the graphical effect I am talking about!! The easiest way to see it is to look just at the left edge of the audio controls... see how the background is lighter there?? Then, about halfway to the weather, it goes back to normal. Same effect on bottom bar.

This did not exist in DX 2.x.

Any ideas?

MasterSchwag> Did you happen to catch the part where I mentioned that this has been "Tested all the way up to 2048x1532!"?? How much larger do you need?!!?
