Looks very very cool. DLing now. Thought I better say something now, because if it's as cool as I think, I'll be draining my brain on it for a few days. Correction. A few seconds, I don't have that much brain left. Peace. Hippie

jakefalcons - Try this: You have to be in DesktopX Builder mode, then right-click on the Color button, select Script Enabled (it should be chiecked, this will uncheck it), and then repeat (this will turn it back on). Hopefully this will fix it. Let me know.

I saw your sample object. It is a good base to use and I can swipe the graphic objects from your media object. I'll start playing around with it. I wish that the theme would remember that autohide was turned on. Each time I restart the machine or reload the theme I find myself hitting the autohide button. I think the first thing I'll do with your sample object is use it to show my virtual desktops.

Hi - Above all else, I want you to know this is the first theme I can actually use!
Next, questions. I don't seem to be able to use the media bar -- I have MS Media 10 installed, but no media widgets. I was able to listen to the radio (how do I add more stations?), but would prefer to listen to my music (all) or playlists (tried dragging the playlists to the drop area, but was blocked).
I confess I'm a download-computer-eye-candy-junkie, not a seriously technical type person. I love Stardock's products and use most of them on my system -- unfortunately each module has to wait its turn, directly contingent on my time to learn how to use them.
I've read all the posts on this thread, not to mention the help file provided.

Again, wonderful work!

Suzanne - Thanks, I'm glad you like it!

As to your questions:

1. I'm also using MS Media 10 and have had no problems with the player. It is based on Tiggz K-Media player Link, and it uses the ActiveX media player control supplied by Microsoft. The usual way to use it is to press the playlist button which opens the playlist window, then select something from the first drop-down (Select a source...), try "Media playlist", then in the second drop-down (Select a playlist...), select something, like "All music". You should then be able to play. If this does not work, tell me what does happen.

2. The calculator, ruler, and cross-hairs are on the DX-Bar (upper right side of screen).

I hope this helps.

This is a great desktop and I love it. The only thing I'd like to change is the clock. Is there any way to change it to a digital clock?

Thanks

Ok I made a mistake and removed the side bar and I can't figure out how to get it back without reloading the desktop, which I don't want to do because I don't want to have to recreate all of my shortcuts.

Thanks

Erragon - If you are trying to save the shortcuts on the LaunchBar, but you deleted the SideBar, then the solution is pretty easy:

1. Save the whole desktop (the one with your changes) to a different name (Save Desktop as).

2. Then reload the original Dragon Desktop. Then right-click on the SideBar, select DesktopX, then select Export, then check Export as packaged object with Select and related checked, hit next and Browse, give it a name and click Save, then Finish.

3. Reload your saved desktop (from #1).

4. Import the object you exported in #2.

Note: All of the above assumes you are in Desktopx Builder mode.

Hope this helps. Let me know.

Thanks for the link! I had to drop my playlists into the temporary box on the K-Teck Player... But it works, even if I have to do that...

and, Duh! I see the crosshairs, ruler, and stuff.

Thank you, too, for your quick response!

I changed the color to light blue but i can't get it back to the darker color. Any ideas why? And also when i try to ajust the color with the slider bar thing it only shows on the media tab.

Jake - In builder mode, on the configuration dialog for DesktopX, on the Desktop tab, there is an option for Wallpaper. You can set whatever image you want from there, or if you want, you can set no background image for the theme, save your desktop, and then use the standard windows wallpaper interface.

Switcher05 - Check comments 43 and 44. I think they might apply. If you need further help let me know.

Ok it's the hue ajuster thing that only works for the media bar. Now it says:
Type mismatch: '[string: ""]'
Line: 43
Code:
(not available)

Switcher05 - Do you have the configuration set for color to apply to all objects? (See help) If you do then something has gotten out of sync, not sure what. What have you done with the desktop loaded? Made any other changes? Created or edited any DX objects? I'm noticing here that problems develop sometimes when DX is trying to autosave changes in the middle of some other operation like editing or saving an object or desktop. As a last resort, you could reload the desktop from scratch. If you want to do this there is a way of saving your shortcuts if you have them set up already. Let me know and I will walk you through it.

MountainDragon, this is a wonderful theme, and a great way to get started on DesktopX. Thank you for your help with the .dxtheme question. I do have another question, though. You have a default wallpaper built into the theme. Is it possible to change that wallpaper to something else, either by saving it somehow or by changing the script? I have tried saving the desktop as another theme file when in builder mode, but it still loads with the default wallpaper whenever I restart the computer. Everything else works wonderfully. Thanks for a great, usable theme.
