SPECTACULAR: I really find this one useful. The frame look is cool on the larger screens. Of course the tools are great guys.

FR&SJ all you have to do to re size the frame is go to the configure builder and click create-- control, right click properities and click the summery tab and change the WIDTH AND HEIGHT and hit apply

Appears that the E-Mail error has been corrected. If not, I did get a PrtScrn. Great, we do greatly appreciate the update. Citizen steper, thank you for your direction; however, with all do respect we would rather not tamper with this set ingredients and will wait for the update. The issue involved more than just the frame...involved the Taskbar as well.

Great theme! It is very useful and easy to customize. I have made my tweaks and will enjoy using it for a long time. There is just one thing that I would like to customize. It's the media player. I would prefer to use RealPlayer or iTunes instead of WMP. I know that there is no API for RealPlayer so I'll use iTunes. You have scripted the buttons. Any suggestions on how to change them and the other controls to use iTunes instead of WMP? I am not a DX3 expert although I can modify scripts and objects without any trouble. Give me a nudge and I'll make the appropriate changes.

Thanks,
Mark

Mark - Actually, I based the media player on the work of Tiggz, in his K-Media widget. I liked the way he handled playlist selection, versus the method used in most DX Player based widgets. The trade-off was that he used an Active-X MS-Media player control as the basis, and as such would require it to be pretty much rebuild completely to do what you want. I will possbily do a media player that works with the theme that uses the more generic DX Player, but it could be a while. In the meantime, I would suggest that you either just use it as is, or remove it from the theme and download another player widget that works the way you want. (To remove it, just right-click on the player and select Remove (or Delete if you are in Builder Mode) and select Yes to the question about related objects.)

I began modifying the widget but you have too much coded to just easily port to DXPlayer. Your auto hide feature makes the mods non trivial. I would forgo auto hide but I find it too valuable. So I will most likely not use it until you have time to make the changes. I suppose I could hack the script if I could figure out how to subsititute iTunes for WMP.

Mark - I've uploaded a DX object that you might want to take a look at. It's a sample docking/autohide object that you could easily adapt as the backing for a DX Player. It should be out of moderation in a day or two.

I just wanted to say that from looking at your preview the Theme looks great..unfortunately the resolution isnt what im use to. buzzh58 made me a DesktopX theme geared for a fairy using 800x600 resolution. I know very few use that reso....

but that doesnt mean I cant comment on your effort..

I'm having several script errors that are making this theme impossible to use. I get server type errors on the e-mail objects, and I'm getting an error on the help button. In addition, the menu bar jumps even when I dock it. I've deleted my old version and downloaded it today, but no changes. Please help me. The theme looks great, but its too buggy to use.

Tycho7 - I haven't had reports on these kinds of issues, and I'm not experiencing them here, so I need to know what your system is like: what Windows version, DesktopX version, what else you have running, etc.

shrapnal - In general, if it is a shortcut type object, then use Set Target on the DesktopX right-click menu for the object. However, it also depends on how the person who put together the object or theme did it, so I would address the question directly to the author. If you are working with the Dragon Desktop, then I would look at the help first.

shrapnal - If you're using Dragon Desktop it's all in the help doc. Otherwise, I don't know specifically cause I don't know what you're dealing with.

Really great desktop, i am using it with the digital2 WB skin, and it's great...

It would be cool though, to have the desktop resized with the side panels, so my windows are not hidden under the side panels. I can hide the sub panels, but i find them way too nice to hide them.

Thanks for your great work,

This is not so hard to do - DesktopX must be in "Builder" mode, then bring up the DesktopX Configuration, select the Desktop tab, then select Workarea. From there you would check Reduce work area and set whatever margins you want. Start with (based on my object sizes): left=116, right=269 OR 116 (depending on whether you include the LaunchBar shortcut tray), top=201, and bottom=70. Let me know how it works out...

and thanks for the kind words.

I actually have 2 questions. First, I am brand new to DesktopX. When I downloaded this theme and unzipped it, it did not give me a .dxtheme file. Instead, I got a bunch of .dxscript files and .png files and such. How can I load this theme? It looks awesome and I'd love to try it, but I can't get it to work. Second, I have tried a couple of other themes out, and I'm wondering how to modify some things, like adding entries to website menus, or changing the label of an item (such as IMAGE VIEWER) in menus if the target is changed. Is it possible to do that, or do I have to use the labels that the theme designer put in.

Hdulcimerguy - The file you are downloading is a .dxtheme file. If it has a zip extension when you get it then it is most likely your browser renaming the file, since it is a special kind of self-extracing archive. Instead of executing the .zip version, RENAME it to *.dxtheme, and then execute that.

As for your question regarding changing shortcuts, etc. check the help that comes with this theme.

Looks very very cool. DLing now. Thought I better say something now, because if it's as cool as I think, I'll be draining my brain on for a few days. Correction. A few seconds, I don't have that much brain left. Peace. Hippie
