Hi Tracy,

First, sorry for my english (i'm french)

I enjoy your theme, but I am a novice in customization, and I want to konw how I can configure by my self the two buttons left by a menu like the button office for example, but with personnal shortcuts.

Another thing, nothing happen when I click on the buttons : browser, utility and contact, is that normal ?

Many thanks for your help, and

Alex

Right mouse click the object and choose Properties. You can change the shortcuts, etc through the properties menus. To add a new text object, choose New Object from the Object Desktop menu then navigate to the States tab, change the icon in the appearance menu from image to text then use any text you like.

Thanks Tracy, but I think you do not understand me, I will try to explain as well as I can.

I konw how to modify or add a shortcut or add an object

But what I want to do is when I click on one of the two buttons left a menu (like the office or system button) appear with several shortcuts.

Example :

I name a button "security", I click on it then a little window appear with different shortcuts like : ad aware, norton, zone alarm ....

And when I click on a shortcut in the menu the programm will open.

Sorry again but it is not easy with my "school english"

Many thanks to you
Alex

OK here goes, well here is how I do it. First I copy the desktop file into the directory then rename it to a zip file, then unzip to it's own folder. Now there is access to the graphics in the theme. next I add a new object, in this case it will be the little graphic paper as seen on the other menu's. Next I add new objects for each of the text links and place them on top of the graphic. Each link will represent a shortcut to a program or file. Next I click and drag starting at the outside of the graphic to include a selection of the graphic and all of the text/object links. I right click and choose Group from the context menu. Now I name the group, perhaps SECURITY, or something like that to make it identified. Now To show and hide that group I need an object controller. Right click the button and choose Properties. In the properties menu I change the value from Layer to Object Controller. I choose Toggle group or some such verbiage (I am sorry I cannot remember and don't have OD open at the moment. Then there is a drop down list, find the group that you named and choose it. Now I move the group to where I want it to appear. Click and drag to select the entire group again, right click to get Properties and change the Z Order to Invisible. Go ahead and check out how the other groups work. I hope I get your meaning now and my explanation is enough to help you muddle through. I am new at this myself but have experience with dhtml web deisgn which sort of works the same way.
