" Kudos to Buzzh58 for his Glass weather panel and Stormy System Stats panel from which I stripped the meat (thanks). "

Giving credit to buzz for his work in setting up the template for the weather and the stormy system stats is not a way around permission. Unless he actually wrote that you could use his template then you can't. That weather with resized Icons was something he and I worked on and shared with each other.

So...I hope you actually asked him if you could reskin his work...

I stand corrected. I've once again learned something new. I didn't realize that resizing was also protected (and to be honest, didn't even know that resizing had taken place).

Since I did not seek permission for using these, I will send an email now to WinCom asking that this Desktop be pulled until this issue is resolved (permission or redesign).

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

I know you and buzz had many email exchanges in regards to DX Themes. I know he had answered questions, advised you and helped you out as best he could. Using Scripts is basically what everyone does. Martin gave permission long ago so that people like me that wouldn't know a script if it bit me in the...could make something. But, we all have our own unique ways of setting up etc. If everyone just cloned the same widget over and over again it would be pretty boring. Buzz decided to make a more ' mini-version' of a weather widget. Its also the way I made my last few widgets. Its always best to ask when in doubt. Someone just asked me the other day if they could use my BlackZero weather and reskin it to match their sidebar. I had to said they could use it as is but not reskinned...because it was the same set up and buzz did 99% of the work on it.

I must admit my knowledge of scripts is even below your level. I've already requested this desktop be pulled. Thanks again for the information.

Fairyy~, I just sent an email to WinCust asking for clarification of this situation. If I understand correctly, the issue as you state it is the size of the images/icons, and that permission is needed because the original scripts were edited by buzzh58 to get the smaller sizes. But you don't need to edit the scripts to do this - you only need to change the image width and height in the properties menu.

I'm not trying to be difficult, and will of course do whatever is necessary to rectify the situation. I'm now waiting to hear back from Buzz and the folks at WinCust.

Robert there's no need to remove this. Karen is my partner in crime and so was just seeking clarification that all was above board, a lot of people seem to be taking liberty s with others work lately. Karen hadn't realised that Id given you permission to use anything from my themes as long as you re-skinned it with your own graphics. I perhaps was at fault and should have sent you a written permission to include when needed. An email to you is on its way.
Theme looks great BTW and thankyou Karen for looking after my interests.

Cheers

Which is why a permission text would have avoided this whole issue.
