I think that if dx is NOT used to hide the desktop icons then the objects behave as they should, that is they are unselectable. But if you use dx to hide the icons, then you can ctrl-drag them. I think that this is a dx bug of some kind.
If anyone encounters this problem, just reload dx and the elements should be repositioned correctly.

I like and thanks for the tip re hiding DX icons. It seems to cause issues with proper loading and displaying of a background image.��

Beautiful clock ! Thank you ! I am a fan of the Executive theme. Unfortunately DesktopX doesn't work on Windows Vista SP1 (unless I switch on UAC, which I don't want to do).
