I read about this in the "Go" insert from Time magazine.Reminded me of Packard Bell's desktop.
It's great!

I really like this theme. And I was wondering if you're working on any other objects for the shelves, such as a stereo for Winamp, a globe to launch internet explorer, a phone to connect to the internet, board game boxes that go on the shelves and could possibly have customizable titles, etc. I would create these myself but i do not know how. Thank you.

I bought basic Desktop X last month. I downloaded Bob XP. When I try to load the thme, I am told that "I need the enhanced registered version of Desktop X to use this theme". Okay, what ELSE do I have to buy?

Okay, got my answer, thanks. Works fine now. I had another problem getting an object to open the Corel Address book...it kept refusing to recognise the shortcut configuration that the actual shortcut-on-the-Windows-desktop used with no trouble. Turns out that the config code changes when you go to the DesktopX mode. Solved the problem.
Wish I could create something this much fun...

I didn't understand you Bob K. Anyone else know the answer?

Thank you!

Argie: You need to go to this site:
https://www.stardock.com/products/desktopx/download.html
and download the 'Enhanced Edition for Registered Users' (the second rectangle down the page),which has this message:
<<
Click the link above to visit the Support page and enter the email you used to order DesktopX (OD customers download via the Component Manager). This update is only for registered users.>>

Then follow the instructions. That is what I did.

I do have another question for the Powers That Be (oooh, an Anne McCaffrey reference!):

I am trying to figure out how to place an object insid the cupboard doors--the ones that open when the mouse rolls over them--and be able to click on that object and launch an application. The problem is that the cupboard door object, if layered so that it is 'over' the object I wish to place 'inside' th cupboard, masks the 'inside' object so that I cannot click on it. Any suggestions?

Argie, I gave you bad instructions. I said 'download the Enhanced Edition...', when I meant to say 'click on the Enhanced Edition...'. Just do what the instructions tell you. I don't want to confuse you any further.

Hey, neat! I found a Christmas Fireplace (in the 'Holiday' category of DesktopX) that fits perfectly into this theme!

Eh?, the left cabinet I cannot put objects in, while the right cabinet everything fits in fine. I checked both of the cabinets config, they both look the same to me.. ah man, weird stuff

btw, nice skin!

frogboy, according to the screenshot, (i only saw it there-- i don't have odnt registered.) it seems you have a cartoon-like dog. the dog's name is rover. windows xp's default search companion is a 3d-ised, barking, juiced up rover. if you aren't using it already, try it.
