How long did it take to make this..? I ask because of the price, Ive sold Visual Style suites by the thousands over the years, usually for around 10 bucks, BUT they usually run about a month of solid day and night work to make, Im just curious.. how long honestly does it tqake to make one of these...

and to others.. how good IS it? Im not on Vista.

Well, this particular movie was pretty time-consuming. I think I put somewhere around 10 hours into setting up the animation and then it took about 20 or so hours to render (if I remember correctly).

Admittedly, this skin was not as many man-hours work as a full windows skin or something similar, but the current price seems to be consistent with the few other premium skins available right now.

For what it's worth, I currently have about 30 hours into making an upcoming dream. To get the effect I'm looking for, it'll probably be about 60 man-hours and 60 render-hours.

before I pay for the HD version did you fix the looping problem? I don't want to pay for it if I still get that jump between the beginning and the end like in the free one?

You know , i just got to thinking.. are you actually permitted to advertise on Wincustomize?

be nice if you could but this looks like a bait and switch to me.. If your going to sell something you should generate your own traffic, this is cheating.

Navygunner,
Yes. The new version runs perfectly smooth on my machine and I have heard nothing negative from those who have already purchased.

vStyler,
People post relevant links to personal/sole proprietorship sites all the time here. I don't think this is any different. The link to the HD version is just a nice site to check out for those that like the original version.

Well.. yeah..Im gonna have to go ahead and disagree with you there.

Perhaps if you were selling shoes.. or ceramic frogs.. fact is your in direct competition with SD and their Dreams program and your drawing folks away from their product using THEIR site.

Dropping a line in a thread once in a while to promote your business is one thing.. pulling a bait and switch on their turf is another.

This just seems pretty blatent to me.

Dont get me wrong, im not opposed to you selling your work, I do the same. In fact if im wrong and I can just come on WC and advertise my new pay stuff for free that would be great..

Just doesn't work that way in the real world.. Its a pretty slick move.. but wrong nevertheless.

I do understand where you're coming from. If StarDock finds any fault in my posting the relevant link to the similar dream, I'll happily remove whatever they request - or I'm sure they could also do it themselves at any time.

I do, however, agree with you in that 'pulling a bait & switch" is not acceptable. I do not think that posting irrelevant links is ok, but if what I link to is, in fact, entirely on-topic and within posted Terms of Service, I don't feel there is any wrong-doing. It is certainly not my intent.

Maybe I can submit a 'Ceramic Frog Dream' to WC soon I appreciate the fact that you're able to challenge other's opinions and actions in a mature way.

As i said with the last debate about paying. I dont mind paying for something, but paying for something blindly is just not going to fly. Untill some one figures out a way to let us preview these "high quality" dreams, I see no benefit to taking a chance on one, esspecially from a third party site. Now dont get me wrong, your work may be top notch, but since you cant exactly prove that too me without me shelling out money, I see no reason to take a chance.

I was one of the people in the forum who got flamed when I thought a big company like Stardock shouldn't be charging for Master Dreams, even Frogboy came out to blast me. Now I see a private individual selling one(1) stinking Dream and everyone's now up in arms over ninjamuk charging? My word is more power to you!!!! If all these Stardock fanboys fought for Master Dreams, why are they fighting you? Don't believe me, read below:

WWW Link to forum message

If Stardock can profit from Dreams, so should ninjamuk!! There shouldn't be a double standard as to "who" profits. Stardock does the same bait and switch, only they use free user submissions to accomplish this goal which is far more offensive in my opinion.

Mate I just bought your HD version. Good on ya for putting in the effort, I'm willing to pay for that. It looks great and worth a few dollars to me. Will be looking at more of your work, thanks a bunch..

Hey great dream, just wondering about the hd version. Is it still available? The site it links to is questionable, and I just want to make sure that you still have it for sale or might have uploaded it somewere else. thanks
