My Performance values are as follows:
CPU: 4.0
Memory: 4.1
Graphics: 4.4
Gaming Graphics: 4.3
Hard Disk: 4.5
How the fug do you figure that's slow? Anything less then 4.0 and I wouldn't be running Vista, but 4's across the board is not slow by any means. Just for comparison a freaking P4 3.0GHz HT proc runs a 4.2 in CPU speed on the performance values.
My guess is that the majority of the makers of these dreams have either HT or Dual Core procs and hence see 1/2 the speed costs that those of us with single core/non HT procs see because their procs split the taxation of the proc.
And I didn't say it didn't run on my laptop. It runs without a hitch, it's just that I'd rather not have my fan roast my lap because it's on full blast due to the high clock-cycles. DeskScapes does not run in the background people!!!

Here is something to try. Take a look in the following folder:
C:\ProgramData\Stardock\DeskScapes\ExtractedData
This folder contains extracted .dream videos and you should see a folder that starts with Nebula Flight. Look under this folder and find the Nebual.wmv file. Run this in Window Media Player and see what your CPU load is. How does it compare to when it's your desktop background?

Nice... Ok, found the file and played it. Windowed or fullscreen, the CPU utilization is only at about 75%. Better, but not exactly where others have been. I've got some dreams that hit about 20-30% CPU utilization. So, it is the codec you have it in or what? I wish ATI hadn't stopped development of their Mobility driverset. Damn them... it may even be a driver issue, but I don't have anything more current then Catalyst 7.2 for x700. Hope this helps in you optimizing this dream... it's really good. It just needs an NCC-1701D navigating around in it. OMG, did that just come out of me.

Edit: OK, check this out... if I set the video to my background then the CPU is again at only 70%. Whatever it is it's either DeskScapes doing this or something else in the Dream causing the 100% when using this.
