I always have trouble figuring out what to do with all of the pieces when trying to fit it into a smaller resolution. I thought about yanking the .mp3 section, but I use lsxcommand too much. So I guess I don't know how to change it

Kill the clock and put the time on the date area by removing the weekday and replacing with time then take out the apps section and you should be small enough

Looks nice. I like this a lot. I've never been one of the minimalist types myself. Have always gone after functionality and the 'have everything at my fingertips' type of thing.
Coincidentally, all of the themes I create for my own personal usage are similar in many ways to this great theme you have here.
