ok, i foundout that if you goto start, and then run, and put in RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove run it, and it will remove Windows Messenger.. but, the docklet still crashes on my computer :-/

AoW777, you are 1 funny dude. Its like your dentist was fixing your teeth through your "back way"
To remove Windwos Messenger:
Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components > Scroll to the bottom > Unselect Windows Messenger > Click OK button.

Now, just reinstall MSNMess 6.x

I have 6.1 and have no problems.. running on WinXP.

Great docklet.

The only problem I have is it doesn't seem to automatically log me in upon Windows startup.

It works fine on XP for me. But i got one issue. There is no check mail in the dropdown like there is in the actual msn messenger. LOL

launches windows messenger. I uninstalled windows messenger (I hesitated at first because I though both windows messenger and msn messenger use shared libraries), after that the docklet crashes. BTW I'm using winXP and msn messenger 6.1. Looking forward for the bugfixed version of this docklet since its a great idea

Thanks for such a functional docklet!

But I have some suggestions:

1. the option of "appearing off line" seems not to work frequently.

2. when it is started together with the O Dock, there seems to be no need to start msn messenger in advance.

3. A further request:
Could you make a docklet for Yahoo Messenger as well?

Oaktree - is there any chance you could send me the source for this docklet - I would really like to convert it to YzDock. My mail is jonrico@blueyonder.co.uk. Thanks.

OK I think I've figured the Windows/MSN messenger bug...if it opens up Windows Messenger then update it to the current version. After that it should load up MSN messenger instead even if Windows messenger is subsequently uninstalled.

Oaktree, I hope you are still around. Would you consider porting this one to Y'zDock using my OD2Y'z Wrappers? http://www.dockex.com/index.php?pageId=tutorials&ttview=3

A lot of people in the Aquaify-community really hope you do
