Hi Andreas,
I must be doing something wrong. It seems that this docklet is not working for me.

Have to agree with mankar, XP Pro Sp1 This docklet doesn't do anything. Thanks for the effort though

Neat, no more having to go into the configuration every time the taskbar pops back on for some reason.

Doesn't work for me either, but neither does the "show desktop" applet that is standard/native to windows...anyone know how to get that to work? Email me if so, PLEASE, at mbrown3@hotmail.com. Thanks!

Andreas, you continue to amaze me. This fixed the problem I had with the taskbar showing up when I used the start menu docklet (thanks for that one too! )

i have to deaktivate the "hide windows taskbar" option, otherwise i can't toggle on the taskbar with the show/hide button.
the problem is: after system reboot the windows taskbar is then toggled on of course and objectdock gets not started????
so there must be a possibility to use the show/hide button with activated "hide windows taskbar" option.
what can i do? any others have this problem?

This would be perfect for me except for ONE problem: when I click on hide the taskbar, it takes the taskbar away, BUT it leaves a colored space where the taskbar used to be that doesn't match with whatever image I'm using as a background ... It's like it uses an older image or something.

Anyone know how to fix this?

After experimenting, I can say the following about this docklet:
It does not Autohide, but rather it toggles the Taskbar stays which ever way the user leaves it. For it to work:
1. Autohide has to be turned off in Start Menu/Taskbar Properties &
2. the Dock setting to hide the Taskbar also needs to be turned off.

-After extracting the docklet from the zip file, add it to the Docklet folder in OD.
-Right-click the dock and select Add. Show/Hide docklet appears in the list of docklets.
-The author did not associate the docklet with an icon, so the docklet doesnt show up visibly on the dock.
-Mouse over the end of the dock where a new item would be added & the name of the docklet will appear.
-Right-click that area and select Dock Entry Properties from the menu.
-Click the Reset Image button in the Properties dialog to get the default icon. At that point, other icons can be selected.
-Good luck!

actually ..willjust try it..i've got the objectdock plus but the show system tray icons doesnt work...tried all the work around i've read about the problem and it still doesnt work...so...thi is th best solution for me to quicly acces the tray....the other docklet that shows the tray doesnt really work well..it crashes object dock quite too much...and left with no taskbar (good thing i know the ctrl+shft+escape workaround)...
