I'm having trouble getting it to work. It doesn't seem to load the config file to begin with, which is a problem. I tried editing the config file to make the paths to referenced files absolute (instead of relative,) but I had no luck.

Any help?

Well, I can at least load the .ini, however, how does one configure it? Any extra help Judge?

You shouldn't need to configure it - you should be able to launch iTunes with it and if youhave iTunes 4.5 or greater installed it will change to show the album art of the currently playing track - assuming the currently playing track has any album art.

I just upgraded to 4.6, but it still doesn't do anything. It doesn't even show the track title. Is there a certain directory that all this needs to be in?

It got it working for me, but I want to know if I can standardize the display size, so that all images are resized to take up the same space. All album art covers are square, so distortion shouldn't be a big factor in this.

Do tell. I can't get it working beyond launching iTunes.

I have the same problem, it will launch iTunes but will show no album art. I go to configure and there is no meter of course, but 2 overlays artwork and icon. I try to configure the artwork and the path has %s for a path with no meter or or. The icon has a path of icons\iPod mini silver.png but no meter and no or. Would someone please post the proper settings so the rest of us can get it to work. This dock when it works is truly a work of art. I had the privledge of seeing it on a friends Y'z Dock a bit back. Hey Judge keep up the great work. If someone doe not want to post configurations please email to me at psychotic_penguin@rap.midco.net

A few things: Before you install this you should quit ObjectDock. You will also need iTunes 4.5 or later for this to work.

If you've tried to edit the config and there was no meter, quit objectdock and re-install the config.

Should've put this in the description - but it takes *so* long for dock stuff to get approved

Wellll. This just uses a script to talk to the iTunes COM object (added in v. 4.5). As I understand it, WMP has a model too but I know nothin about it or if it allows access to album art.

Question about iTunes Artwork...

Does the Artwork need to have the same name as the album for it to automatically appear, or does one have to confiure each individual mp3?

This dock is pretty cool... Here's my idea. When you exit from iTunes, make it go back to the default icon and text. When I quit, it leaves the album art and track name in the dock, and that's enough to make me never use this. Fix that, and you have a fan.

This thing doesn't work for me either. I've done everything mentioned above, but still no go. It only launches iTunes.

I love this - Just wish it was like the AveDesk component, where I can have the player exist OUTSIDE of the object dock... possible? Everytime I drag it to my desktop, it disintigrates...

Oh... for those having troubles... i find that on the odd install, it does not configure itself correctly. To rectify this: right-click the icon (likely a SysStats question mark), choose "Configure Meters". On the left-side, make sure ASyncScriptMeter Class is in the dropdown box. If there is no meter listed beside it, choose "add" and configure to add the "itunes.vbs" file, likely in the "scripts" folder.

My laptop did not install it correctly, but my desktop did. Enjoy.

Hmmm...I installed this docklet exactly as recommended, and for the first day of running it, all it did was open iTunes. Now, without explanation, it works entirely as expected - that is, it now displays album art! I'm still scratching my head about it, but in the end I don't really care what happened, so long as it works.

One thing you might want to consider when using this docklet is to make sure that you use the iTunes interface to add artwork to your songs.

Nice work, Judge! Please continue to make updates and improvements.

Looks like this Docklet (along with other itunes widgets, etc.) stopped working with the latest 4.7 update. So if you like this docklet you may need to hold off on updating. (
