Installing of KkMenu 2 is mostly the same as of Kk Menu 1. The most simple way is to unpack the downloaded ZIP to your HDD and to link it to you DOCK (or other) shortcuts.

The command line parameters are slightly different:

KkMenu.exe p1 p2

where
- p1 ... is menu ini file,
- p2 ... is skin ini file.

The ini files must not be qualified with the full path. The ini files must be located at the same directory or at any subdirectories of the KkMenu.exe file.

See please the test - aqua.bat for the command line parameters example.

All menu images must be in the same directory as the menu ini file.

The skin image must be in the same directory as the skin ini file.

That is all for now, if you have any inconveniency then do not hesitate to ask me at the wincustomize comments.

OK Guys! This new KkMenu uses a different system of metrics! I'm in the process of learning the new system, be patient. Thanks to Jiri for this update! I will be updating all the skins to the new system!

For anyone having the access violation error, I just found that if you save your ini file without changing the coding from ANSI to Unicode you get that error. Jiri, Congrats ! This is another fine step. I'm loving Object Dock more everyday and I almost can't see what I'd do without it now. Also if your wondering about the differences from the first version, instead of having 1 ini file with all the different sections i.e. [Internet] and linking to them as an argument, this version needs a separate ini file for each section [] which would correspond to 1 dock icon, and in the arguments you put the menunamewhatever.ini skinnamewhatever.ini , no quotes just a space between the 2 ini's.

Does it still not allow the opening of folders?

(oh by the way, this is awesome, I LOVE it!)

Great Job Jiri! 2 questions...

1. If I prefer to have the down-arrow always to the left and not dynamic the way it's behaving right now, how would I do it?
2. Is there away to have default system icons vs. assigning a .png to it?

Thanks...

I also discovered the access violation error. This is actually unprocessed internal error caused by the invalid KkMenu usage. Normally, it should show the message box saying what is wrong. It will be fixed in the upadte later.

Well, I know that there is a group of rock aquamens. The need to have the menu exactly the same as in originam MAC. It is possible (and actually very simple) to redesign the skin to have the arrow always at the left side. Just try to use the KkSkinner.exe.

Noone needs to understand the skin.ini file any more as there is a simple (it might not mean easy to use) visual skin editor tool: KkSkinner.exe.

The KkMenu never extracts the icons of linked executables. In case you want the menu item to have the image, you need to specify the png.

The KkMenu 2 uses different (more versatile and efficient) skin.ini format, though the old skins are incompatible (unusable).

The menu items specification is a bit different:

1. Separator:
S1 = "S"

2. Submenu:
= "IM",,

3. Shortcut:
= "IS",,,,

The show flag can be:
0 for normal,
1 for minimized,
2 for maximized,
3 for default.

I am currently half way through the implementation of the menu editor. It will be available by the end of this week.

I figured most of then new menu out, except the arrow at the bottom changes from left or right at will. Is there a way to decided myself which side of the meny image the arrow is shown?

Other than that, this meny is much better than the last, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Well I got it working, and it's fantastic - a big improvement on the original.
My only complaint is that with the first one, I could keep all my dock icons in one place, then just use "c:\icons\item.png" in the config for example, but now all the icons have to be in the menu folder for them to display... any way round this?

Played arround with it. It is really cool. I would second the wish for more organized png-folders. Please allow subfolders for the png-files.

Ok. It's still not working. I tried to fix it with the help you gave, but it is giving me the same error. I really need help. Tried everything i could think of. What exactly causes the problem? Oh well. I try again.
