btw. i can't get the left side of an open window in xp (the blue area) to get the right color, what's wrong??

Larry (and Aleatoric), you're right - I set my display to 120 dpi and things did go a bit awry. One problem is the fact I have skinned the more programs button on the start menu, this is solveable by having a 120 dpi substyle with that element unskinned. However, some of the other glitches I just don't understand. Up until today I didn't even know about this 120 dpi setting so I apologise for any inconvenience I shall look into the issue in a bit more detail and see if I can figure out why certain elements get distorted. At the moment I am somewhat clueless
