Quoting Kailef, reply 49Keyboard redirection failure can also be consistently duplicated if you've got Chrome with GMail open on your primary, and you are creating / replying to an email.

It sounds like the app is installing a hook thats grabbing the input before Multiplicity gets it.  I will look into if we can tweak that or not.

Neil,

I'm sure you'll be able to resolve it.  The problem doesn't happen with the previous version of Multiplicity, or other similar products such as Input Director and Synergy.  (Tested each of them to confirm)

Kailef: We responded to your support ticket by asking for some logs, did you get our email on that?

Yes, responded to the email I received and attached the ZIP file that the diag tool created to the email in the morning of July 31st.  However, my response didn't seem to update the support ticket.  The email I received asking for the logs to be sent came from sales@stardock.com which is where my response was sent to.  I can re-forward that response to a different email address if you prefer - Just tell me where.

Update:  I gave a shot to using the Microsoft Garage "Mouse Without Borders" app.  It apparently uses the similar hooks as Multiplicity 2, as it has the same - literally identical - keyboard redirection problems.  I don't get those issues with the original Multiplicity or with Input Director.  I hope this information helps you figure out the source of the issue.  Have any of you been able to duplicate it yet?  I posted instructions on how to do so earlier but I can repost them if you need, just let me know.

I really hate to say this, but because I'm working in a fairly high-stress production environment, I had to switch back to using Input Director and Acoustic Bridge instead of Multiplicity 2.  The interruptions to my workflow are just too frequent for me to use it on a regular basis when I'm trying to work.  If you are able to resolve the issues with keyboard redirection in a later version, please inform me and I will start using Multiplicity again.

Understandable.

I'm having a similar issue to the processor use sitting at 22%. After using my system for a while, it just slows down and explorer becomes laggy. I see the process taking a lot of CPU 21-25%.

One other question/issue, this time on switching to primary from secondary:

My primary machine is a three monitor setup, secondary is a single monitor.
I have the secondary monitor placed above the middle (main) primary monitor.

I can switch to the secondary from any primary monitor, but when I switch back to the primary is always switches to the monitor on the left.
Something like this:Reduced 10%Original 5520 x 1968

Will there be any options in the future to manage wich monitor to switch to on multi monitor setups?

Anything on this?

Hi,

I've been using Multiplicity for years and I love it. Bought the new version because the features looks amazing, and audio is working great, same as sharing files, etc... but was hoping to have a problem fixed that existed from the first release, and is still here, with Multiplicity 2.

Here's the thing: On one of the clients, I run 100% of the time a VMWare Workstation client, at full screen running XP. The Host of that VMWare (and Multiplicity 2 client) box is Windows 7. The main host of the Multiplicity "server" (AKA my main box) is also running Windows 7.

Let's say I have a URL on the main box, that I want to copy from my browser to the client box. Select that, use CTRL+C (or even the right click-->copy) then paste it to the client (directly on the VMWare machine). It works the first time (once booting the box). Then you try again, and it doesn't work anymore. That's the main problem. COPY/PASTE is not working with Multiplicity when it comes from the VM.

Now my findings: With that URL already copied on your clipboard, minimize the main VM. Open a notepad on that box and paste the link. It works. Now replace that text with something else, copy it and paste it on the main computer. It works too.

So basically the whole problem is that Multiplicity misses copy/paste events when are coming from the VM even when it works for the first time.

Can you PLEASE take a look at this? I can only make assumptions on how Multiplicity works, but looks like it needs a clipboard monitor to check for changes instead of checking for kepresses/menu actions. Would be AMAZING if you can fix this.

I really appreciate it!

If I remember correctly, we recently tracked down and fixed some VM related bugs, which should be in the pipe for the next update.  They were clipboard related, so chances are they'll address this as well.  Not sure on the ETA for that update, but should be soon.

Actually the VMWare issue is not addressd in the update as it is not a Multiplicity problem.

The problem is VMWare does not update the host OS clipboard when you copy things into it inside the VM.  The sync is performed only when you leave the virtual machine either by changing focus, or moving the mouse outside of the VM.  Neither of these things happen when you switch machines using Multiplicity and so the Host OS clipboard remains as it was before.

There is a similar issue with VMWare and pasting into it as again it does not sync from the host OS clipboard and so ignores the fact that the clipboard has changed in the host OS.

I can see why VMWare works as it does, but so far we have been unable to locate a way to convince it to update / update from the Host OS clipboard consistently.

Hello,

Have to say I love MP2.  I am having an issue when I go to shut down my Win XP computer though.  I get a number of pop ups that MP2Drag.exe has encountered an error because the machine is shutting down.  I have to keep clicking on them about 20 times or so before the computer finally gets past them and finishes the shut down process.  I am using version build 28.  Thanks!
