This is the best meter object I have run across. Not because of the graphics (which are great), but because of its innovative design and features. A 10 by all means.

GM - check the warp field and disengage safety interlocks!
fivesballs - thx alot mate ...calendar - well it would seem to be the next link in the dx chain wouldn't it?
cheers Travis - I take that as a positive comment
Aleatoric - my pleasure, glad you like it. I will upload some wallpapers soon to help complement your desktop

thx Phoon, that means alot coming from a dx officianado such as yourself
the more dx scripting I do the more I like it, although it is painful at times after the umpteenth crash of the day...but I hope to do more. In fact there is one project that's been in my intray for quite a while now that fairly soon I may find some time for...

Thanks alot subdude
The scripting in this object is actually surprisingly simple. When I conceived it I thought it was going to be a struggle but using some of dxscripts built-in functionality most of it was achieved in a few simple lines of code. Feel free to peruse it at your leisure

I love this!! The only thing I would like to see are an email and recycle bin checker added either with this or seperate. Since I do not use Sysmetrix now, that would be awesome to have this plus it would go great with the overall Rubicon theme. Could we twist your arm into adding this please..?

Top Notch all the way around.

Thankyou Greg. I have a nascent email checker already on my desktop, so that's definitely on the menu...
As to a recycle bin, the last time I tried that it kept crashing dx, mind you that was a few versions ago. I shall explore that avenue tomorrow

I'm having trouble with this crashing DX. It is the only thing I added and it will run a while and then crash.
Nice meters. I wish it would run, I would use it.
Good work.

Thx Stephen - sorry to hear it's crashing. Have you got the latest version of desktopX? This object uses the latest performance meters plugin and has some simple script to change its shape and so on which are only implemented when you configure it - so when it is just sitting there all it is doing is using the performance meters plugin. I should add that it has been sitting here peacefully on my desktop for days now without any signs of trouble. Do any other meters objects cause you troubles? Email me with details of dx version and os and things if you like and we can try and sort it out.

It is a bit hard to see, probably due to my very high resolution. But I give you a 9 for near-perfect execution.

Tiggz, Thanks for the great meters, clock, and weather. Very Nice! Couple of questions. I saw your note about the network objects, but can't figure out how to make them work. Could you please give more details on doing that? Also, as mentioned before, Email Status and Trash Bin status would be nice. Also, on my system, with my bad eyes, it would be great to have the text a little darker. Like what's in the weather object. Thanks again for the Great Stuff!

I loooove all the Rubicon stuff, and this just blows the rest of the objects away! But it takes forever to load... ( I hate my computer.

Thx for the nice comments CheeseCow, Thomas and Shiori.
If you need to amke the text a little darker then make sure desktopX is in edit mode, right click on a text object, and select properties, go to the states tab and at the bottom you can change the font size, colour and style.
To change the network type, right click on a network object (there are 4 altogether, 2 sliders and 2 text objects) right click it, select configure peromance meters 2. Go to the data source tab, click the change button next to system perfomance meter and in the performance object drop-down box choose network interface instead of RAS - then select the appropriate counter from the counters list below (make a note of what was being counted previously before you change to network interface).
Good luck with your configurations

Rubicon is my favorite WB and OB skin. I love high tech metal, blue indiglo/glowing skins. Hope to see some icons and look forward to the wallpaper. if you're still working on those, you might like this idea. To make button icons, that are gloabal in shape, metal cover with round indiglo housings in the front facing you that glow when you mouseover them. Maybe you could start unlit/lit or go light glow/bright glow for the mouseover effect. Over even a 3 stage unlit/light glow/ bright glow for a the idle/mouseover/selected effect.

Thanx for sharing Tiggs. This rocks!
