Dude, GR8 theme! Looks awesome! But for some weird reason, I can't run any mpeg, avi, dvd etc... files! Simply put, I can't run any media files when I apply this skin... SIgh... Also, when after i play a game, (any full screen game) all the icons and links get displaced and look weird... I tried it out on both of my PCs and same results... Both on 1024x768... Could you give my any help??? And fast?? I really luv this theme

well they get displaced because most games change your screen resolution when you load them. The best thing to do would probablly be to simply unload it before playing a game

Are you talking about media files in the theme's object media player or in windows media player?

Well, thanks to comments up thread I managed to get the dock over to the right hand side, one weird thing, when I went into the properties of "the real dock" and stretched it to fit 1280 x 1084, the user name at the top disappeared and I haven't a clue how to get it back!

Another thing, now the dock is on the right hand side the gradient giving a 3D feel is on the wrong side. I tried renaming the theme to .rar then opening it up and reversing the dock4.png in photoshop but it made no difference. anyone let me know how to do this?

just copy dock4.png to your desktop and import it into the desktopX theme using edit mode and changing the image of the dock from its properties. Oh, and I was under the impression that dxtheme's use zip compression, not RAR compression... Also, before you change its size, move all the objects that float on the dock to the middle of the screen so they dont go off the screen when you change its size. If you do lose an object, you can right click on the desktopX icon in the systray and go to "list objects". This will give you a dialog which gives a list of all the objects in the theme. You can select any objects that get lost from there....

I think it is all sorted now, Phew!

For some reason the "inverted" dock4.png I had put into the theme file kicked in after a couple of restarts of DX (no, I don't know why either!)

I gave up with the user name and deleted it from the list of objects and made a new object, turned it into text and control dragged it onto the dock then set it as a child of "the real dock". I don't really know what I'm doing yet but it seemed to work!

Hello,

In the zip file, there is not the .dxtheme file. There are many files .PNG .dxperf .dxscript etc...
Can you help me?

Thanks

you seem to have extracted the dxtheme file for some reason. Just execute the file you download...

I rated it a 4. The media player has no way to select tunes or playlists (unless I am missing something obvious), but it navigates and operates very well once the chosen player is open. I had to go into the object list and drag the temp display onto my monitor so I could double-click it and change from C to F. I recommend a refinement that would allow this from the crawl or the icon. Another WX refinement would be to eliminate or re-format crawl items that are too long to fit in the dock. Examples are wind and barometer.
Other than that, it is a very slick theme and is perfectly matched with VF's Longhorn Slate WB. Well done
I look forward to an update for resolutions like 1280x1024 and a simple way to move the whole theme from right to left.
Do you have any suggestions for icon sets or icon packages that would go well with your theme and VF's WB? What do you use on your system?
Thanks for your hard work on this. You p

Apologies, but help please. Downloaded DesktopX and your skin as a WinRar Zip file, and that's as far as I can get. Can't seem to find a way to install. Is there a single install or setup icon I'm not seeing? Or do I have to install each component manually? Help greatly appreciated, preferably in the language of someone who doesn't know what the **** he's doing. Thanks LF.
