You need to exit DesktopX and enter the builder I think... try that through the DesktopX welcome screen, then you can right click each object and customize the crap out of it.

This is awesome and exactly along the lines of what I would love to have. It's actually what I thought DesktopX would have more of. If I had any clue how to do it, this is the kind of thing I would create.

Have you done any others?
Are you planning to?
Can you be begged, bribed or otherwise convinced to do another?

Maybe....

An office
A personal home library with (animated) fireplace
Something medieval

And actually, someone said something about a screenshot from the Sims 2. Perhaps not such a bad idea as a start point? (has said game and expansions laying about, would install to make base environments)

I'm right with you there... I was disappointed by all the weather and clock widgets and the "same thing, different style" all the time. I have a regular studio version of this without the Christmas stuff, and one with the same objects and a different arrangement and background. Other than that, I haven't tried more, but I could probably make a better one now that I have photoshop.

To be honest, tho, this sort of thing is a bit of a stretch with Desktop X, because the layering of objects is very limited... I had to be careful where I placed objects on top of objects, so that clicking wouldn't cause them to be partially hidden behind other objects.

A very good idea, with regard to the Sims 2 suggestion. I think next time I would pick more generic furniture and settings to apply more to the ppl downloading it. Most of the things in this theme are things in my room, but I think next time I would take a photo of all the objects I want where I want them, so things would look smoother and more natural.

I'd love to throw some ideas around with you. I've a fair hand with photoshop and graphics. Maybe we can communicate somewhere else... perhaps MSN Messenger? Mine is in my profile.
