Carl, This is great! I'm really excited to see someone exploring new ways to utilize the power and capabilities of DX. Congratulations on being in the forefront of this movement. Definitely watching for any thing at all from your studio.
Thanks !

[edit: SG-1 would make a welcome skin for this...]

Ok I must be dumb but I can't figure out how to work this thing at all. How do I get it to just use one component (weather for example)? I also can't seem to figure out how to select the skin, I tried selecting Optix and nothing was showing up. Only the sys info and mediaplayer were showing up and it keeps asking for a bunch of mail server information.

Have You selected the skins folder at first start ?

The buttons are misleading as I didn't manage to rename them yet. "OK" actually means "Apply". So if You do anything, click "OK" and then "Cancel" to close the parameters.

You can't hide the main performance meter yet. I will see if I can attach the hide/show options button to all of the objects for 0.99.

Best is to close the gadget and start again by choosing the skins folder 1st.

BTW, the main purpose of this gadget is system-info, not weather.

Yeah I figured but I'm just difficult. It's hard to find matching weather skins for all the stuff I use and I already have a system stats thing running through Avedesk. I did try selecting the folder on first startup, but I wasn't sure which folder to select, the actual specific skin folder or the folder I put them all in. Either way didn't work.

Important : The main Skins.ini has to be in the root folder of the skins.

So the folder has to look like :

\Skins.ini
-Skin1
-Skin2
...

The exe can be placed whereever You like.

Yeah, I am still figuring out a way to make that more simple. An option would be to use the registry, but I refrain from messing with other peeoples registries yet.

Next version wil (hopefully) have a skin preview implemented, too.

i'm having one little problem, the weather won't remember my home, everytime it starts it reverts back to the original Germany setting. anyone else have this, or any ideas on fixing it?
