Could you make it so it has a 2d look on the side like the real thing.

Rossc5,

Yeah I think I can do that.. Look for a new download in the next few days.

I've noticed that no one's added the reflective effect to their dock (without using special icons) I was wandering.... is it even possible? I think it'd be really cool but no one's done it. I don't think it's possible..

John,

No it isn't possible.. At least not yet (as far as I know, but I sure as hell am not a programmer). I would imagine that someone will eventually write some type of plugin/docklet or something to do it. But as of now I think Apple used a revamped version of the "Cover Flow" effect that was first implemented in iTunes. There is a javascript effect out there that emulates it pretty well called Reflex. But the effect of course is copyrighted by Apple so I'm sure if anyone does it they will have to answer to those a-holes at Apple.

**BTW

Onetrack, I'm finishing the final tweaks on the 2D version. It should be posted shortly.

TSA Element,

thank you very much for your kind explanation. However it seems to be an extraordinary work even if I download 3o days demo of Photoshop.
As I don't know this program resp. I've never worked with I have to abandon this solution.

Thank you very much again.

Happy New Year

Badblueboy,

I think the solution I could provide is to possibly make a tutorial. Its seems like a good idea, because I would imagine that you are not the only person in this situation. So I will throw something together in the next couple of days. I hope this will help, because I would really like to help you and everyone have some good looking icons to match the dock.

I noticed in your screenshot that your icons are sitting more on the inside of the background. My icons sit on the "edge" and not as "in" as yours. Is there a way to fix this? or adjust how much more my icons sit "in?"

You can edit the placement of the icons through the .ini file, but it won't move them enough to sit properly. To get them to sit properly, you will need to edit each icon individually. If you want, I have a few templates in .psd and .tif format. If you want them then send me an email, my address is listed on my WC page.
