Sorry if it caused anyone problems, but I only tested and ran this on a Windows XP machine running MSN Messenger 6.0. Anything outside of that I haven't tested it.

I'll post another version with those changes as well as better error handling in a couple days.

Using MSNMess 6.0 allows changing the status form the Docklet. Switching to MSNMess 6.1 removes the "Status Change" functionality from the Docklet.
(WHy in the hell did i upgrade from 6.0, to 6.1 !?)
System:
WIndows 2000 Pro Eng US

Windows Messenger (as opposed to MSN messenger) is part of windows and is a Default messenger i guess. Go to Add/Remove programs > Windows components and uninstall the P.o.S.
Then, the docklet should work fine (cept for Status Change issue with MSNMess 6.1)

AndreasV: Are you running both Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger? I have both istalled, but only am running MSN Messenger, and I get MSN Messenger 6.0 launched corerctly. Just trying to figure out why your behavior is different.
Suslik: I'll upgrade a machine to MSN 6.1 and try it out. Microsoft probably changed the interfaces available in the newer version.

On ObjectDock load the icon shows as "signed off". Right-click menu is awailable, I click "Sign On" and the correct MSNMess (6.1) is started.
After that, the right-click menu allows to change the status.
I remember Encarta installing some new MSF libraries, could that be it?
