i've just tested to make sure it installs ok, and that i didn't mess this one up by accident, but i can report that it installs just fine. what exactly is the problem you're having with installation cambie?

the only thing that stops me from using this skin is that the taskbar skins look mis-aligned and there seems to be holes where the wrong skin is showing, between the start button, the quicklaunch buttons, and running program buttons. i recommend you fix this one little glitch, because it ruins a truly well done windowblinds skin!!

(hopefully im not the only one seeing this error)

i'd be interested to hear of anyone else who's having this problem, as i've yet to reproduce it through testing. in the documentation that comes with the skin, i do suggest rebooting after applying ANY skin, as WindowBlinds tends to have a hard time redrawing the XP taskbar on its first attempt sometimes. a reboot should fix this problem.

For some reason the button images are not working. I get the normal windows buttons but they are black.
Sane thing with your metalX skin. I really wish this would work 100% because it is soooo slick.

this skin, along with metalX, uses .tga files for the button images. you need the very latest version of windowblinds for this feature to work. i have been unable to test the skin with an earlier version of wb, so the only advice i can give is make sure you're using the latest one. i'm using version 3.1 and everything works fine.

Wow, Kevin! This is a really, nice mellow skin.
I had no glitches (usually, I can break ANYTHING!) and I am very fond of the added controls.
I hope to see more of your work.

I have the same problem with teh taskbar. The bottom bar graphic does not show up.. Just has a dull grey.. I have installed and uninstalled several times now.. I am using wb3.0 will upgrade to 3.1 and see if that fixes the problem. Also using XP Pro..

maybe this will help.. The files that start with xptask-????.tga are in tga format and when I try to view the image, I get a blank image.. Let me know if this could be the issue.. I also got the file from your website just incase that one would work for me.. nope sorry..

lonexwolf>> you're going to need version 3.1 of windowblinds if you're using windows xp, as almost the entire xp taskbar is made up of .tga files which enable per-pixel blending. it's well worth the upgrade.

i should state, for anyone else having any problems with either button skinning or the xp taskbar, that to use this skin you MUST have version 3.1 or above of windowblinds. this version introduced a new method of using .tga files instead of .bmp files for skinning, to enable per-pixel blending for those elements.
