Looks great, although im somewhat new at this. I have a few docklets installed already, and did everything right to my knowledge and it is not in the "Add" list, with a system refresh also. Any Ideas? (the file and everything with it is in the docklets folder)

The WiFiDocklet.dll should be copied to a folder under "Docklets" folder (in my case C:\Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock\Docklets\WiFi) the only other needed files are the "icons" folder (with the PNG's within it). That's all. There are no other special procedures that need to be followed.

Yea, it was all done that exact way. ....docklets\Wifi\all files (The folder where all other docklets added, work.) I dunno, i'll try and re-download and see. Edit: The re-download worked... lol Thankx guys, and thank you for the docklet!

Hey fedro, i've tried downloading and re-downloading but objectdock cant seem to detect this docklet. I've placed this folder in the docklets folder but still nothing. Is there something i'm missing?

Not really, there are no special issues I have faced, may be you should take a look at the Zip file after downloading it (if it is windows vista) but before unpacking it, so you may "unlock" it. I have faced problems with zipped files that are "lockes" in the past. Then you should take a look at the folder "Security" setting just so double-check. Appart that, I have found no problems with it in the three systems I have for testing. And there are no other special steps you should take appart from uncompressing the files in the right folder.

Still nothing. I'm using XP so i dont think there's an issue with the zipped files. I've extracted it into the docklets folder but objectdock still wont detect it. When i right click to add docklets, i see every other docklet except this one! I've tried removing all the other files and just leaving the .dll and icons folder but still nothing.

In my XP Setup (which is a VM) I found no ptoblems at all, I did found that the Zip file (which I downloaded also from here) was marked as "Blocked" (I have Windows XP Professional SP3). So before unzipping it I unlocked the file. What version of objectdock are you using? I am using ObjectDock Plus 1.90a (Build 538u)?

Running the latest (alpha) version of OD Plus which is unable to detect the docklet even after restart.

I cannot seem to find the option to unlock the file. I'm using WINRAR though. Should i be using another program? I'm using the free version of objectdock.

Well, what about file/folder permissions, would you mind to check/compare them to other folders under the docklets folder? In my system, the WiFiDocklet.dll has the following security entires: SYSTEM (Full Control) Administrators (MACHINENAME/Administrators) (Full Control) Users (MACHINENAME/Users) (Full Control) Additionally, I log to both systems as local administrator. I have not tested with a regular user account.

It's great to know you managed to make it work. Today I tested with both the latest free version available and the latest plus alfa and they worked fine with both Vista and XP VM's I use to develop. Any suggestions for an update?

Does anyone would like to try an updated version which... supposedly is prepared to support unicode? If so, let me know so I can post a link to this download.

I know this is going to seem like a stupid question, but I can't find the docklets folder I have to put the ZIP folder in. How do I find it?

when i open the archive (with winRAR) i receive this error:

! D:\WiFi06112008.zip: Unexpected end of archive

when i unzip the archive i get this error:

! D:\WiFi06112008.zip: The archive is either in unknown format or damaged

Also, when i browse the archive i don't see the WifiDocklet.dll file, just 2 folders full of pngs.

I see, it should be 8,212 KB long (8,408,286 bytes). Maybe it got corrupted upon upload... while it is updated at WinCustomize you might download it from my web site: WWW Link

(Mrs) rwpcaniac, I have created a pink inspired icon set for the docklet that I think might suit your desktop. It is available from: WWW Link Hope you like it.
